Community Decision-Making

  • Increase partnerships between district schools and community-based organizations

  • Listen to and empower educators, including licensed and non-licensed support staff

  • Prioritize developing and maintaining meaningful family and community relationships to support student learning

Student Leadership

  • Advocate for the rights of students to engage in district decision-making processes

  • Advocate for opportunities for students to lead in larger school community conversations

Environmental Justice in Education Communities

  • Invest in solar panels on school buildings as an alternative energy source

  • Support transportation electrification initiatives

  • Support efforts to pivot to local food options and investments in agricultural programming

Positive School Culture & Climate

  • Invest in additional counselors, social workers, Restorative Justice Coordinators, and Community Intervention Workers

  • Increase funding for ELL programming to support bilingual students

  • Support recruitment, revitalizing, and retention of Teachers of Color and Indigenous Teachers

  • Provide equitable resources for professional development for all educators (licensed and non-licensed)

  • Ensure the wisdom and history of our diverse community is embedded in educational programming

  • Invest in wraparound and basic need support services for students and families

Student Career Exploration and Preparation

  • Prioritize the development of relevant, research-based STEAM curriculum

  • Restore investments in arts and athletics

  • Prioritize staff trainings in SEL and culturally-affirming programming

  • Invest in experiential learning and out-of-classroom learning opportunities
